Pixie is the standard creativity software on elementary computers in schools across the United States and Canada. Pixie helps students combine text, original artwork, voice narration and images to communicate knowledge and ideas. Students are using Pixie on Windows and Mac PCs, iPads, and Android tablets.

eSchoolNews shares comments from one of the nominations for Pixie by Ellen Gerkens, technology instructor for the Swain School in Pennsylvania. She shares, “We rely on this versatile program in grades pre-K through 3 for a variety of projects. Students make class slide shows for reasons such as reviewing topics studied, creating solutions to problems, reflective writing, demonstrating science concepts, and honoring grandparents. We also use it for making greeting cards, stationary, booklets, and comic strips. Pixie is our students’ favorite application.”

“We have been developing Pixie for over ten years and are excited to see so many fantastic uses of it in the classroom,” shares David Wagner, CEO of Tech4Learning. “Hundreds of thousands of students are using Pixie for their curriculum projects and we can’t wait to see where teachers and students apply it next!”
