You can use the Cool Word feature in Wixie to fill the letters in a word or phrase with an image.
Creating a Cool Word in Wixie
To use a picture as the text color, you need both an image and the text you want to fill on a page.
Use the Text button to add a text box. While the box is selected, choose a thick font that will show more of the image in each letter.
Type the word or phrase you want to fill with an image.
Use the Image button to find the image you want to use. The search field or Pics4Learning options at the image dialog can help.
Hold down the Shift key and click the image and the text to select them both.
Select the button on the options panel that fills text with an image.
The text will now be filled with the image.
The image is still on the page. Use the delete button in the top left corner of the image to remove it.
Using Cool Words with your learners
Cool words make for great titles and headings. Use them when you want an idea or title to really pop in your project, such as the headline of a newsletter, infographic, or video.
You can also use the Cool Words to create visual vocabulary (lesson plan) or fill words with text to give additional meaning to similes and metaphors.
Students can fill their name with an image from their device's camera for a fun desk identifier or fill their name with an image that represents their identity, feelings, or favorite hobby.
So many possibilities exist! How will your students use this feature?
