Using Wixie to meet math standards in 6th grade

Students in 6th grade are on the verge of complex mathematical concepts. Wixie provides tools they can use to visualize complex procedures and explain their mathematical thinking. 

Wixie's Curriculum library includes a range of math-focused templates you can use for formative assessment purposes or to support student thinking as they tackle complex math tasks in your classroom. Wixie's Template library contains double-number lines, histograms, coordinate planes, and more.

Teachers can assign Wixie activities directly to students, or customize to differentiate them for specific learners in their classroom. Written and voice instructions for students show in the Wixie interface. You can also ask students to record their voice to explain their mathematical thinking.

Real World of Math: Comparing Numbers

A major focus in kindergarten, and often into first grade, is developing an understanding of whole number relationships. Comparing numbers (greater than, less than, and equal to) is at the core of this understanding. Wixie's Comparing Numbers template is designed as an assessment of initial comparing knowledge.

Students in 5th grade are deepening their understanding of place value, fractions, and decimals, as well as building fluency with operations and expressions and the coordinate plane. 

Wixie's Curriculum library includes a range of math-focused templates you can use for formative assessment purposes or to support student thinking as they tackle complex math tasks in your classroom.

Teachers can assign Wixie activities directly to students, or customize any template to differentiate them for specific learners in their classroom. Instructions, both written and recorded, also show in Wixie for each template. You can also ask students to record their voice to explain their mathematical thinking.

Real World of Math: Equation Board Help

First graders begin to work with addition and subtraction equations. Although these equations mostly involve one-digit numbers, the opportunity to add and subtract multiple of ten (with numbers less than 100) is available. The Equation Board Help template assesses student knowledge of the skill.
