Wixie provides students with tools to show what they know and share their ideas through their art, their voice, and their writing.
While students can use a blank Wixie page to get started, they can also use templates in Wixie’s library or those created by your district to apply their learning. These templates are great for formative assessments and for students to complete performance tasks.
Adjust your Wixie account settings
The templates library includes over a thousand curriculum-focused templates. To see only templates appropriate for the level of your students, click your profile icon in the blue bar at the top and choose Settings.
At your settings, scroll to see the grade level check boxes for templates.
Check the box for your grade level and maybe a level or two above and below depending on the learners in your classroom.
Click the Home button in the upper left corner to return to your Wixie home page.
Explore the templates
You will see a Templates folder in the list on the left. You will also see folders for your school and/or district if your site has developed and shared custom templates.
Browse to open any of these template folders to browse for files you might want to use with your students.
Click the Search field at the top to search for templates using a keyword. Type your keyword and click the magnifying glass on the right to search.
Click the three dots to the right of the field to display more search options and find templates based on standards, grade level, and additional criteria.

Assign a template
When you find a template you want to use, use the three dots next to the file to choose Assign.
At the Assign dialog, choose both how long you want it available for students to begin, as well as exactly which classes, and which students you want to use the template.
Watch a video of this process.
When students log in to Wixie on the days you have activities assigned, they will see the template at the top of their home page.
Students simply click the assignment and begin working.
Customize the template
If you find the template isn’t exactly what you need, select the activity to open it into your Wixie account and make your edits before choosing Assign.
You can even create differentiated versions of your template to meet the needs of the range of learners in your classroom.
