Wixie: New Features
Get a Summary of Features in the Summer Update
If you have logged in to your Wixie account, you have already seen your home page and authoring tool has lots of new features like:
• additional options for starting Wixie projects,
• themed templates with book layouts and page transitions,
• the ability to create custom classes,
• integrated lesson ideas and how-to videos,
• and much more.
While students love to simply click around, and some of you may too, we have put together a video overview of these new opportunities.
Wixie: New Resources
New templates and images are added each month. Wixie now includes a variety of thematic book templates with page transitions that students can use to demonstrate their understanding of the curriculum. Search “book” in Wixie to find books that are appropriate for primary and elementary-aged students.
Browse the new Lesson Ideas option in Wixie for the Me on the Map activity idea and template. Find this lesson under the Social Studies folder or simply search for “map.”
The summer Wixie update includes the ability to link between pages in a project. To support internal project navigation, many Wixie templates include a Table of Contents and students can choose from a range of Navigation images to guide the user experience and more easily create non-linear projects such as “Choose your own adventure”-style stories.
The latest Wixie webinar shared 50 Ideas for Back-to-School with project ideas and templates for All About Me, Summer Memories, Goals, and Literature-based projects.
Tech4Learning hosts a regular series of Wixie webinars, many presented by educators. Explore the schedule to browse previous webinars (video recordings) and learn about upcoming events.
