Wixie includes a range of settings that allow sites and teachers to adjust Wixie to make it more effective for their learners. Districts can choose settings before teachers and students even log in for the first time and teachers can then further adjust these settings to meet the needs of their specific students.

Start Over button now live for assignments and templates

Wixie sessions have more than doubled from last year!

The response to the new Wixie update has been fantastic. The number of times students and teachers are visiting Wixie has increased dramatically from last year. The best part is that much of the increase has come from existing schools using Wixie more.

Wixie and iOS 12 devices

Update - 6/24/19 - The Wixie app has been updated and this new version includes a fix for this issue.

In late October, Apple released iOS 12.1. This updated OS introduced an issue on iPads using device management software, such as AirWatch or JAMF,  that prevents Wixie from accessing the camera and microphone.

Real-time collaboration coming to your Wixie account

At the beginning of the school year we began rolling out real-time collaboration on Wixie projects to individual schools and districts. We added a few schools a week all fall so we could monitor server loads and ensure we have the capacity to turn on the feature for everyone over the winter holiday.

Wixie adds support for OneRoster user data CSVs

It is data crunch time as Wixie using schools start syncing their teachers and students for the new school year and new Wixie schools start adding their users for the first time. The latest Wixie update gives schools and districts another option for how they provision users in our system. Wixie now supports adding users using CSV files that meet the OneRosterTM specification from the IMS Global Learning Consortium.

Wixie UI Update – Getting Wixie Ready for Next School Year
