The Highlights feature in the upcoming version of Wixie makes it even easier for students to archive, share, and celebrate learning.
Wixie was built on the notion that we learn best by doing and that we grow as learners when we reflect on and share what we have learned with others.
How does it work?
Students can use the three vertical dots next to any project to add a project to their Highlights folder.
Once they are ready to share out their favorite projects, they can copy the URL link shown at the top to share their highlighted work.
Why use the Highlights feature?
Evaluating work over time
Teachers can easily assess student progress over the course of the year by asking students to add certain projects to their Highlight folders.
Sharing work with others
Having one central place to share exemplary work students have done makes it super easy to share their learning with parents and other stakeholders in their education. And, because we believe that learning should be documented and reflected upon over time, previous student project work will be automatically stored into prior grade level folders.
Reflecting on project work
Students can easily see, and thus, reflect upon on cross-curricular work they have added to their Highlight folder. Imagine how powerful it would be for them to listen to how their reading skills improved over the course of a school year(s). Or, their writing or drawing abilities?
There is no greater joy than being able to go back in time and see and hear progress and Wixie's Highlights feature makes it easy to select, store, and savor learning over time.
